This is the culprit of my not blogging all month.
This is the house we just bought.
There's alot of work to do when you buy a house.
This is our first time buying a house. We can't live on base because the school on base doesn't have an autism program for Chase, so, we figured it was a good idea since we're going to be stationed here for 4 years to buy, but we've already been here 7 months, which is about how long it took us to find this house, and for the VA to finally appraise a house at what the seller was asking!
If you walk across the street from our house and go 2 houses down, there's a drug dealer that lives there. You'd never know by looking at it.
Eric suggested that I sell them some Avon and then they could give "gifts with purchase" for the holiday season! Ahh :) Gotta love Vegas, no matter where you are, or how "nice" your neighborhood looks, you can count on hoodlums and shenanigans going on nearby.
I remember when i was growing up, (on the east side of Vegas) it was rumored there was a known killer on the street 7 houses down. He'd done his time and was a free man now. So in the mornings when we'd walk to school, he'd sometimes be outside and we'd run as fast as we could past his house. I wonder if he ever knew, that we knew of his senseless follies. It's funny how when you grow up in a big city, you become desensitized. I don't know if that rumor was true, but he was a creepy dude nonetheless! Leslie, if you're reading this, do you remember him? Remember when it was Monday mornings and we'd be walking to the bus stop with your cello, and we'd walk on the other side of the street running with the cello if he was outside?
Good times!
We're very excited for our recent purchase. Allie loves the loft for which the Wii is now residing.
Chase loves the stairs, and also loves throwing things over the banister from the loft and watching them fall. There's always a collection of stuffed animals and bouncy balls at the front door.
Do you like my attempt at putting "holiday touch" on the garage?? The red ribbon i had wasn't long enough to go all the way across the garage door, but you could say I got an E for effort right??? No?? More like a D- you say?
In any case...tis the season :)
