I never drink soda, and for this very reason...i need the caffeine to work when I have a migraine headache.
Yesterday I woke up around 5:45am, while Eric was still getting ready for work in the other bathroom. I rolled over and went back to sleep feelin right as rain.
At 7:42am, i woke up and instantly knew I was in trouble.
The kids had no school, because this is New Mexico, and they always find a reason to have school off.
This time, it was 2 days off, after just having a week off for Spring Break, like that wasn't enough, for a 'snow day'.
I live less than 2 hours away from Juarez Mexico.
The day it snows here enough to miss school is the day I'll know hell froze over.
It's about as pointless to call it a snow day as it is to shut the barn door after the horse is already stolen, know what I mean?
Luckily I have a husband that works about 3 minutes away from home so he could run and get me my liquid painkiller, while Allie got Chase some breakfast.

I decided I was going to feel better, not puke, and we'd go have lunch in the park on base.
When i was growing up, my Pops always said "if you have a headache, put your feet in hot water".
I tried it; the kids thought it looked like a good idea, so the 3 of us sat there, on the edge of the tub, with our feet in the water. Me sitting there hugging my huge diet coke, Allie trying to get sips while i hung onto it like a pair of this season's Prada shoes on clearance at Saks Fifth Avenue, and Chase, I'm sure, silently wondering why we were sticking our feet in the tub, but joining in anyway. What it must be like to always be 'none the wiser'. Sounds kinda nice actually.
I knew it was going to be a bad headache the moment I realized i was eating cereal out of a Disney princess bowl, using a strawberry shortcake spoon in a bowl full of milk with about 3 Cinnamon Toast Crunch squares. I just knew i needed to eat something before taking 500 Advil, that i knew wouldn't work, but didn't want it tear up my stomach trying. I needed to feel better, and fast, cause the kids were home all day, and Eric wasn't.
After i downed the 64 ouncer of diet coke, i went and got another, to finish off the headache. And it worked.
We went to the park, they played, enjoyed the beautiful day that actually had no wind for once, chatted with friends i hadn't seen since my Bunco days, got sunburned, and called it a day.
All I can say, is, I'm glad it's Tuesday.

Glad the headache finally went away! Sounds like you were able to salvage the rest of the day. When I was in High School they let us out for a snow day and it had only snowed about 1/2 inch! I think it was just an excuse for the teachers to not work.
I seriously can't get enough of the way you write! I LOVE IT! It keeps my spirits soaring high! Sorry about your headache though but I love the prada anaolgy~! So fun!
Amber, coffee works better. Don't think I'm a heathen, but you can get the same amount of caffeine in a cup of coffee and you don't have to drink 128 oz. of fluid. God will understand. :) I get migraines too. They suck!
