Last Saturday, we went to Hoover Dam's grand opening of the long awaited bridge over the Dam they finally finished building. It's awesome. Instead of having to drive around the Dam when you're coming or going towards Arizona, now you can go over the dam. This would have been useful so many times to us in the past when we were stationed in Arizona and New Mexico, but alas, it's here now and they allowed the public one day to walk on the bridge. You can walk on the bridge in designated areas now that it's open, but we were walking in the street on the bridge. Eric wanted to do it to be a part of 'history'. It was hot but we got to ride a double decker bus to the bridge, which was, in the words of Allie, "the most awesome thing she has ever done or will ever do in her life." Still so easy to please an 8 year old.
We parked across the street from the Hacienda Hotel and got on the buses there. While waiting in line to get on the bus, they handed us 4 free tickets to the buffet at the Hacienda Casino. Score. I love Vegas buffets, well, I guess in this case, Boulder City buffets. Anyway, I grew up on them, buffets. It's where we went out to eat for celebrations or whatever the occasion. AndFree food always tastes better too. In 9 years of marriage, i don't think Eric and I have been to a Vegas buffet together. Mostly because we never lived in Vegas until now in our marriage. I can really pack it away at a buffet. They're my fav because whenever i go to a restaurant, i can never decide what I want because what I want is a little of everything, and so I order something and then wish I'd ordered something else, or I end up wanting what Eric ordered. And Eric is like Joey was on Friends with sharing food. Remember that? Joey's character did NOT like sharing food. And neither does Eric. Which is why when we go to a drive thru, and he's driving, i always take the first bite of his food before giving it to him as punishment for never sharing with me when we're at a restaurant.
Anyway, i digress.....back to the point of this blog....
(The Colorado River)
(Hoover Dam)
(The Arizona po po)
(European guy wearing socks with sandals)
(Waving to people down below whilst atop the bridge, is whilst a word? It is now. I'm like Jack on 30 Rock making up new words like 'inoventually')
(Kids on the bridge, not afraid of heights, and Chase standing like Wow Wow Wubbzy)
(Just like the sign says "bridging greatness indeed)
(And last but not least, the 'family picture' atop the bridge, with Allie's eyes closed, and Chase barely in it. Makes for a promising Christmas card no??)

I love Saturday activities that are completely 100 percent free, involve a casino buffet and end with Chase having been a complete angel all day! This behavior therapy stuff is really working! He did a-ma-zing!!!
