In other people's pictures, you see children dressed in fun new school clothes, donned with shiny new shoes and unripped backpacks. A new lunch box at their side with a look of ambition and excitement in their eyes, and smiles from ear to ear...
But this is what you see at my house:
So, in these pics, you see a Kindergartner crying, and a 2nd grader silently wishing her school didn't follow a dress code(hence, the plain white polo shirt)...(she hates it but I love it!!) Makes school clothes shopping a whole lot easier! :)
The 1st day of school for us was spewing with a whole lotta crying....and not for the usual reasons there's crying on the first day of school.
Usual reasons could be:
*Mom is sad her baby is going off to Kindergarten
*Kindergartner is crying because they don't want to go to school
*Kindergartner is scared or nervous
the list could go on! But I won't....
But what I will do is tell you that yesterday, the first day of school, in the morning, I was the one crying before we even left the house, because I couldn't find any of the school supplies I had bought, and...because of this:
Also, Chase wouldn't get out of the car at school, and he bumped his head, and he wouldn't carry his backpack, and he wouldn't hold my hand through the busy parking lot. I guess in the 3 weeks he was out of school for summer vacation, he forgot how it all worked. I will for sure be missing year round schools come next summer! Here's to hoping that someday Clark County School District goes back to year round school, someday.
P.S....the pictures above are secretly from the "2nd day of school"!

Owieeeee!
Allie's hair looks so cute...you always do fun hair styles. At least they can have fun hair even if the clothes are boring!
Amber! What did you do to you poor toe!? That looks really, really sore!
So what did you do the first day of school with both kids gone? Something fun?
Dee, i had to sit all day with my foot propped up! If it wasn't, then the pressure from it being swollen was too much, it felt like it would explode! It's awful but nice that the kids are in school all day so i can keep my foot up :)
