Home for the Holidays...

So my darling hubby was supposed to be deploying to the desert at the end of the this month. We had been mentally preparing to have to be without him for the holidays and pretty much everyone's b-day in our family (except Chase) and including our anniversary. He'd done all but one of the trainings and had one left. He was going to be gone almost 8 months, and then at his last routine optometry check up that is mandatory before he deploys, the eye doctor discovered that Eric has something called Keratoconus. If like me, you'd never heard of it and wondered what in the Sam Hill it was...... click here. So he's had to be fitted with contact lenses, and do some other appts that has made it so there's not enough time to get everything done before he was supposed to deploy. He is still "deployable", but just won't make it in time for the upcoming deployment he was tasked for. But before we knew about the eye condition he has (which by the way, he had no idea he had and doesn't even wear glasses and can see just fine so it's totally weird he has this condition...) he had taken 2 weeks off after he got home from one of his 3 training for his deployment. There was stuff we wanted to get done around the house before he left, one of those things was we decided it was time to decorate Allie's room once and for all. She's been wanting it painted since we moved into our home almost 3 years ago. I La La LOVE how it turned out!

 Doesn't everyone have a box of wax paper just randomly sitting on their beds??
 Evidence of being in dire need of a "new room" is the Dora bag hanger still on her wall.

Needs to go thru clothes--->
in dresser
 Messy, Messy room

OOPS, spillage

Better but still kinda there! That's what throw rugs are for right??

So the quality of these pics isn't the BEST because I couldn't find my digital camera and just used my iphone but they're not bad! For a cell phone, I think the iphone takes pretty darn good pics, way better than my lame droid did that's fo sho.

Eric's foot

A dresser with clothes that fit in it now, yeah!

The 2 framed pics on the wall are cool because the fairies in the framed pics are in her blanket on her bed. That's how we roll.
Since taking this pic, she now has a hope chest Eric built for her sitting at the foot of her bed, and a bed skirt to cover the box spring and all the crap shoved under her bed :) I have a thing about bed skirts, they are always necessary, my dear sweet hubby disagrees, is that just a guy thing? I think so! The curtains are from Lowe's, they have the best selection, i love Lowe's! And we always get our paint from there. Valspar shoots Behr outta the water anyday. We love how her room turned out, way better than naked windows, flat off white builder grade paint, rolls of wax paper randomly placed on beds and Dora bag holders! Next stop...the downstairs bathroom...and every single thing else we want to change in our house, come on Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes...don't do me wrong!

So cute! You are so crafty. Does Allie know how lucky she is to have you as her mother? There isn't anything wrong with a little Dora...we love it at our house :)
