Welcome Home

This is a house.
This is a house that will soon be ours.
This is why I haven't blogged since Sept 11th.
The house is still being built, so, it won't totally look like this, meaning, it won't have nearly the 'greenery' you see here because, well, this is Vegas, and pretty green stuff suffocates and dies a horrible death here.
It's all about the zero-scaping.
Dont wanna dry up Lake Mead yet.
But, for what it is, it isn't bad. They finished the front yard on Friday and it has a nice 'river walk' of 'river rocks.'
Needless to say, we're very excited to finally have our own place that we can call ours and not the military's. We can do with it what we want and not have to un-do it when we're ready to move.

Why aren't we living on base this time? Why is this time different you may ask? or you may not be wondering at all in the slightest but i will tell you anyway. Nellis AFB, while it is a nice base and all, with brand spankin nice new housing, it is, well, located in the ghetto.
Yep, that's right, the gh-ett-o.
Now, this wouldn't be a problem for us living on base and all, except that Chase can't attend the school on base due to him being in the "kids program" which is what the school district here calls their autism program. It's not at every school, and it's not at the school on base :( So, we don't get to live on base, in the spankin new housing for free.
So we've decided to buy a house, and it's going to be nice for a while to have a house that we can call ours, and not the military's, until we move in 3-4 years :)....and then hopefully someone else will want to call it theirs!!
