Farewell's and fond memories

One of the hardest things about being in the military, besides having your husband snatched out of your life for months at a time to fight evil do-ers in dangerous places, is when you're friends husbands get orders to another base and they have to move.

We were like the 3 musketeers, always doing stuff together and lovin it.

This was us at dinner before going to see Twilight the day it opened, of course, wearing our Twilight shirts, because we're cool like that. (We 3 are Team Edward, sorry Elisa, i know you're Team Jacob, and I thought of you when i was in Hastings last night and saw that there were only "Team Jacob" keychains left...i wonder why that was?? >:> jk, i still love you even if you are Team Jacob :)

A few days after Christmas, one musketeer moved to Texas, still close, but still missed daily!!
Tuesday, the other moved to the Honduras. That's a bit further away and harder to go visit!

I miss you ladies! But what makes it all easier, is that we're moving too, most likely very soon and hopefully to Las Vegas. We recently found out that our insurance has started to cover an intense therapy for children with autism. We want to go there because they have the special therapy there that we want for Chase, and I even found a dentist for autistic kids there. A-w-e-s-o-m-e, because allow me to tell you that Chase does-not-like-going-to-the-dentist.

Studies have shown that children that participate in this therapy, if considered
'high functioning' to begin with, can break free by the age of 8. Of course there's no guarantee, but it has happened before, and that's reason enough for me to hope.

We've gotten all our paperwork turned in for 'the big move' and are just waiting to hear when and where. Please please please say Yes to going to Vegas, Uncle Sam!!
A theme in the military is this: "Ok, now, hurry up...and wait".
So, that's what we're doing.

On a side not:
Whenever Eric and I find ourselves without the kids on a weekday morning, which doesn't happen often, we like to go out to breakfast at this place in town called "the waffle shoppe"
It is delectable.

I had a pit bull staring at me in a van out the window the whole time we were eating. That was fun!

When we went to the cash register to pay, i 'accidentally' knocked over this big thing of toothpicks. The container and the toothpicks went crashing to the ground.

Feeling a bit chagrined, i said to the guy, "huh, well, i bet that doesn't happen often"....and he says to me "nah, it happens all the time...just never from the grown-ups".

Does it ever get easier with the whole moving thing? And who knew Vegas had anything fabulous for childrens benefit, it seems as of late that they keep cutting out tons and tons of programs so that is wonderful to hear!!
