A Weekend Getaway...much needed :)

We had the opportunity this weekend to get the heck outta Alamogordo and go up to an awesome town called Ruidoso for a marriage and family retreat. The retreat was at a place in the mountains called Bonita Park. It's owned by the New Mexico church of the Nazarine. It was sponsored by the chapel on base, so it cost us nada, nuttin, zip. It was sooo fun. Everything's more fun anyway when it's free...but they had activities, the best food, and rustic rooms to slumber in.
We attened a few seminars on how to adjust and deal with spouse's leaving on deloyments and ways to strengthen your marriage and families.
The weather was supurb and not very cold for mid-Feb.
We rode the zipline, swam in an indoor pool, climed a rock wall, had hours and hours of free babysitting, ate great food, strengethend friendships and made great memories.
This is one thing i like about being stationed at Holloman...they provide things like this for families to do together and it's always free or nearly free. Can't beat that or pass it up!
As usual, it was hard to come back to Alamogordo, but it was nice to come home to a clean house and feel ready and refreshed for another week of livin the dream!
