Today is Chase's appt with the Orthopedic Surgeon. I tried and tried to find a copy of Chase's x-rays to show you his broken tibia, but for some reason i could find the x-ray that is about the size of an 11x14 picture. You'd think it wouldn't be hard to misplace something of that size, and believe me, my house is not a mess. I did some serious spring cleaning and flinging before Thanksgiving, but i still couldn't find the x-rays. So i posted this pic because it gives you an idea. Chase has what's called a 'buckle fracture', which continues to by a mystery to us all of why it's that kind of break or how he even got the break at all. How in the sam heck do you break your leg in a manner that happens when you, say, jump off the couch and land wrong, or jump off the roof of your house, and just plain land? All Chase was doing was sitting there, and all of a sudden, he's on his belly crying with an instantly swollen, painfully red, lower leg. Luckily, and I know it's not luck, the break happened just above his growth plate...thank you Heavenly Father for that blessing. If he had to break his leg, at least it didn't happen closer to the growth plate. And thank you HF for it not being his 'weak leg' that broke, again. We're worried that he has brittle bone syndrome, which is just what I'm calling, which isn't the real name, but i just can't remember the 'fancy name' because #1, I'm not a doctor and #2, i do NOT have any kind of short term memory ;) It's true, i don't...now what was I talking about? Sometimes I feel like "short term memory man or in my case women". Anyone ever see that skit on Saturday Night Live years ago with Tom Hanks where he played 'short term memory man'. If you have, I'll totally give you 100 dollars. He's plays a guy on a game show who keeps introducing himself to the contestant next to him because he can't remember that he'd already introduced himself like 2 seconds ago. It's profoundly funny, and if you haven't seen it, how have you lived?
In one hour, I hope to go into Chase's appt and come out soon after with NO cast back on his leg. Oh please please please can that happen? Please? I'm tired of carrying around a very heavy Mr. Glass a.k.a. The Chaser...he's a heavy dude. As he's sitting watching Charlie and Lola, and beating on his casted leg with one of Allie's shoes with a smile and totally happy with himself and his life, i sit here silently praying and amazed at how Chase is always 'ok' with all the crappola that happens to him. If only I could be that content naturally. But I do love my new background, because it's red, and i love red, except for when it's Chase's leg, due to the outer tibia bone poking the skin because it's broken....that i could do without :)

So, he broke his leg again? or are you talking about the same break as before? I didn't get much sleep last night so I'm confused.
Good Luck Chase! Let me know how it turnes out today. LOVE the background.
Oh man poor guy!
I smiled at the first part of the post. Then I had an "ewww" moment at the broken bone poking through the skin part.
