Eric's home, it's about flippin time !

(Allie with her grandpa (Eric's pappy) and holding up the sign she made for her dad to see when he walked off the plane

 (Finally home)

LOVE this pic

Check out the guy taking a pic of us!

Eric came home from Afghanistan on July13th. He was gone about 7 months. We survived!!! And we're happy he's home!
We weren't sure what Chase's reaction would be, but right away when he saw his dad, he starting laughing really hard and had no reservations about it.  Of course Allie was ecstatic and loves having her dad home.
Thankfully we got to go to the terminal and see him walk off the jetway. The dude at the ticket counter downstairs at the check-in counter tried to give me grief about wanting ALL of us to get special passes that allowed us up to the gates, but after a while, he simmered down and gave us all passes...whew! Of course it helped that I wouldn't take "no" for an answer :)
After Eric walked off the plane, everyone that was sitting in the terminal stood up and clapped. It was very touching! A guy came over and shook Eric's hand and thanked him for his service. The lady at the counter was wiping her eyes and a man told his son as they were walking off the plane before Eric walked out that he wanted to stop and witness this.
It was all very exciting. Whenever Eric has come home from a deployment in the past, he's always flown onto the base, so it was a very different experience having him fly into an international airport and see the reaction from other people. It was awesome.
We're soooo glad he's home!
I missed my Airman :)

I am so happy for you and your children! Thanks for sharing this precious family reunion. My brother came back from Afghanistan in April to meet his son for the first time. I wished we could have met him at the airport......

Love the pics!! We are glad he is home safe. Now Ben tells everyone that his Uncle Eric is home from the war instead of fighting in it. It's cute!

so happy for you guys. It's amazing what Eric does for our country, but more amazing that you as a mother can handle that be on your own for that long! You are superwoman!

Thanks for sharing the pics! Very excited for you guys :) Tell Eric I'm glad he's home. I don't know how you guys do it, but thank you for being tougher than most of us! Have you guys decided if you're coming up for Scott's wedding in August?
