When I hear people say that there's noting to do in Las Vegas and they can't wait until they get stationed somewhere else, I just don't understand it.
We've been stationed at 4 bases so far in Eric's military career, and each place had stuff to do, even when we were in the middle of nowhere New Mexico.
Being stationed at Nellis AFB, we have the advantage of being somewhere that we're both familiar with of course, growing up here and all you know.
But it feels different here since we've been gone for so many years. It's nice being back home for a while, rediscovering our city.
A few weekends ago, when the menfolk went to the race track, us ladies, and Chaser, went for some Vegas fun.
First we hit up the M&M factory next to the MGM, but not before seeing the lions at the MGM.
Chase was captivated by the lions, very cool, then on over to the m&m factory. My favorite thing about it was they had "vampire" m&m's. They were gray, red and black ...if only they had Edward's face on them...yeah, I'm that girl, it's like that.
(Chase was lovin the Vegas sign made outta real M&M's, while sporting saggy shorts...the boy needs a belt or a butt...at least he's potty trained! )
I've been to these places before, but it's a whole different experience doing this stuff with your kids. Eric and I have had a blast taking our kids to all the places we loved growing up here.
Then we went on over to the Silverton Casino, which is new to me, to have dinner and see the mermaid in the huge aquarium.
Allie LOVED it, Chase did too.
Ya gotta love Vegas.
Where else can you go to in October and see mermaids, huge lizards on the wall, about a million M&M's, then eat a pound of those million M&M's, take a picture with a midget Elvis and Marylin Monroe, an overweight Spiderman, all while doing it in 90 degree weather?? I ain't gonna lie, i love Vegas in the Fall! As far as I'm concerned, the cooler temps, and yes, i do consider 90 degrees as cooler temps, can stick around for a while! I am not a fan of the cold. Thankfully, we've always been stationed in hot places! (Tucson, Okinawa, New Mexico, Vegas.....)Hope that trend continues!
P.S. This beauty got baptized last Saturday...pics and story to come!
