One day, I was at Home Depot with Eric sitting in the magazine/vending machine area and I came across a "Kids Bedroom" catalog.
In it, was a cute bookshelf made to look like a house.
Immediately I showed it to Eric and demand he make it for Allie...well, more like I 'suggested' he make it for Allie.
The good hubby that he is agreed and plans were made.
Wood was bought, along with bead board, paint and supplies. Allow me to stress that when you buy paint, if you're going to by it from Home Depot or Lowe's, always get your paint from Lowe's. Hands down, Lowe's has better paint. Same price at each place, but a lot less headache with Lowe's paint.
Anyway,
Viola! We went from this:
To this:
And then this:
And then finally this:
How happy am I with how it turned out???
VERY!!
Now she has a designated spot to 'organize' her stuff.
She said when it was finished that she might even keep her room clean from now on!!!
One can only hope.

Amber, Amber, Amber...You kids are so very creative!! I love how this turned out...and what a wonderful hubby to be willing to take your honey-do suggestion. Heck, I'm not a little girl anymore, but I would LOVE one of these in my craft room!
Your hubby has skillz!
Even cuter in person! You guys are so talented. :)
You didn't tell me about this awesome project this weekend! I'm bummed I didn't get to see it. :( My curtains are going to go perfect in her room by the way. :D
Taylor's headboard looks just like this!! My father in law made it for her several years ago. It really helps with storage for a small bedroom. Great work Eric!
Great project!! So, how hard was it?
