You know your livin' in a small town when......

They release kids from school at 12:15 instead of the usual 3:15pm because it's the high school's Homecoming.
You should have seen the confusion on mine and Eric's face when we found out about the early release of school...we were both like, "WHY?" It took us a while to figure out that it's because the whole town participates in the festivities. There's was a community pep rallyyesterday, a parade today, along with a 'family enchilada dinner' at the High School for the whole town, and then of course the game.
When Chase's preschool teacher told me that everyone was getting out early for Homecoming, i got a confused look on my face and laughed....she looked at me like 'why are you laughing'? So i stopped chuckling and said, "oh ok, that's cool...."
Oh brother, I didn't even care about Homecoming when I was in high school.
But, at the same time, I guess there's nothing wrong with a town coming together to support their young one's.
Go Alamogordo Tigers, go fight win.

That's how it is done in Alamo too. They also send a special invite to all alumni with a schedule of activities for the week. You gotta love small towns!
