Naughty H1N1 preventative measure

The Air Force forced my husband to receive the H1N1 vaccine.

He got the 'ol ..... 'we think it's a good idea to spray the live virus up your nose cavity and have you swallow it down for the next 30 minutes" vaccine.

While it's a "good idea" to vaccinate against a nasty flu, we could do without the side effects...
such as:
fever
total lack of energy
endless runny nose like a 2 year old with RSV,
and hives all over the roof of your mouth and tongue.
Sound fun?
Nope, i didn't think so either.

So when it happened to Eric 2 days after getting the vaccine, I did what any loving wife would do.....took the kids and left town.
Can you blame me?
You shoulda seen him....really...
Ok, in my defense, i was going to be leaving town anyway to drop Allie off at my parents in Utah for a visit...still on track break remember....and it just happened to all "happen" at the same time.

But then i got sick when i was in Utah....coincidence at it's best. Symptoms were:
my sinuses felt like they were on fire,
sore throat,
cough,
very plugged ears.
You shoulda seen me in Petco trying to buy a collar for our cat.
(capitalized for emphasis because i'm pretty sure i was yelling due to being temporarily deaf in each ear)
Inside Petco I said alot of "WHAT'S"????
and "CAN YOU SAY THAT AGAIN??
and "WHAT ISLE IS THE COLLARS YA SAY"???
and "HOW DO I WORK THE ENGRAVING MACHINE AGAIN??"
and "I ACCIDENTALLY DROPPED THE COIN FOR THE ENGRAVING MACHINE AND IT ROLLED UNDER THE ENGRAVING MACHINE, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER??"
and "CHASE!! CHASE!! " LET GO OF HIS TAIL!......I'M SO SORRY MA'AM... WELL, I CAN'T REALLY HEAR WHAT YOU'RE SAYING MA'AM BUT I'M SURE THAT LAST PART WAS UNNECESSARY".

Boy am I glad my hearing came back.

Hi - just hitting on random blogs and I found yours.

Loved how you described the H1N1 virus shot - around here we call in the hiney flu. You know H1N1 looks like HINI, right?

(I'm avoiding work is what I'm doing - you may delete if you'd like ;)

But why I did decide to leave a comment is because I saw on your profile that your son is "high end" autistic.

"they" are saying that mine is in the autistic "spectrum" and are wanting to say PDD - pervasive developmental delay.

Did it freak you out when you saw that diagnosis?

I'm a little freaked myself - until I look at my son and smile because to me he is just a joy.
