You know you're living the in the desert when....

One of these is running through your living room.

I've never heard a scream come out of anybody like it came out of Allie.

You'd think she'd just seen a severed head roll by.

This is a wolf spider.
Pictures with a camera cannot do justice for what these things really look like in 'real life'...especially when it's in your living room.

I don't mind spiders when they're small, but the big one's are a different story..and when they're hairy, well, that's where i draw the line.

Eric says "ya know, the wolf spiders eat Black Widows...and those are the poisonous ones."
I do not care.
Black widows are smaller, therefore more acceptable, even if they do have the power to kill me.

I'm not saying I want one in my house or sharing my bed with me...but it's the one's that are almost the size of your hand that must stay out.

What a week we've had so far.....
a. We had to give our beloved one-eyed psycho cat away to a good family because we can't take her with us when we move...i think Allie may be traumatized for life :(

b. Wolf spiders are everywhere outside and now inside.

c. While trying to smoosh a cockroach that had made a brave and bold but stupid move into the house, i slammed the sliding glass door shut as hard as i could to smoosh it and in doing so, shattered the front door window in the next room....oops.

d. Bumped my friends car, with my car.

e. Fell off hubby's new road bike on the front lawn. What hurt the most wasn't the bike falling on me, it was landing on the bermuda (crab) grass that graces it's presence in our front yard. I even got a shard of grass stuck in my hand still that I can't get out. It smarts.

f. Not realizing that I forgot to finish getting Chase dressed until the maintenance man rang the doorbell to tape up the shattered window. Of course Chase didn't tell me that he was butt naked. Between the shattered window, roaming roaches and ringing phones, Chase was free as a bird.

g. But you must know, I want you to know, I'm not complaining...it's been fun and kept life 'unboring'...is that even a word?? Well, It is now :)

How about Jacob touched a black widow spider the other day - scared the crap right out of me! My boys love to rub around naked as well. Jacob will run into the living room right after the bath an d yell "Ta da" as he is pulling on his weiner for all to see! Its hilarious!
