Do you have a thing.....?

I do. I have a thing...a thing about Saturday's.
But I don't mean the British all-girl rock band "The Saturday's", i mean the real, actual day of the week Saturday.

If no one is ill, then we must be out of the house all day, as long as possible, and having as much fun as possible on Saturday.
It's a rule I live by.
Just ask Eric, he knows that i physically can't sit at home on a Saturday, no matter what the weather. I must be out 'doing something' on that blessed day.

This 'Saturday' we attended the Earth Day Fair at the zoo. It was pretty much like any other fair this town has. Which includes...lots of booths with info you may or may not care about, games that all cost money that last .57 seconds, the same food as always, and the germ filled, riddled with children and always desired bouncy castle. But hey, I'm all for a fair that's about protecting and preserving the earth. If you watch the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still", you'll be feared into recycling like I was. The scary cool alien Keanu Reeves convinced me. Great movie by the way.

But one thing they had at the fair that was for free was this:
(Allie started leaving the cones towards the crowd at full speed...awesome!)

(Eric and Chase catchin some air)

(do you think of the song that the puppets sing when they first get the the Chocolate Factory? Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka...)
No? Well, i did.

Just before we discovered the bike thing, from a distance I thought I saw Cpt Jack Sparrow.
It wasn't him...these peeps still danced a good jig though.

Lunch at Sonic....thank you Sonic, for getting a dollar menu.

(We looooove Sonic)

After lunch, we went geocaching in town with some friends. We'd been geocaching once before with some friends from church when we first moved here. I didn't at all understand what it was when we did it, so i never thought about doing it again. All I'd known for the last 4 years was laying on the beach at sea level..not climbing up a mountain at 7,000 feet not knowing, I'll say again, what was going on.
But this time we weren't up in the mountains climbing it (clueless on my part) to find who knows what, in the wilderness. Instead we were in town, canvasing the area for the treasure. We did go into a wilderness park, and had to be stealthy look-outs for 'critters and rattlesnakes', oh and we did hear a coyote but never saw hide nor hair of it. whew. And did i mention i was wearing pink flip-flops during all this?
If only we had known about geocaching on Okinawa! Oh the cool places we could have gone searching on that island!

What fun possibly hazardous undertakings did you have on your 'Saturday'?

Love your Saturday lady! We had a bridal shower for one of our friends who is already married it was hilairous. We had a surprise birthday for her and we always talk of looking at each others bridal and wedding photos so we finally did it! Then we went to console a friend who just lost her husband to cancer that morning. That was tough - I have been through it once with my brother a few years ago and it still is never easy but a process of life nonetheless. I love how adventerous you are!
