It was 5 in the morning. Eric was happily having his daily bowl of Berry Burst Cheerios, and I, his dutiful wife was sitting next to him, telling him how nice he looked in his freshly laundered BDU's, clean shaven face and chatting about my day's doings I had planned.
He finished his bowl of morning goodness, we walked to the front door together, he gave me a goodbye hug and kiss and I waved to him as he happily hopped on his bike and rode away to work with a pleasant smile on his face.
Now wanna know what REALLY HAPPENED this morning at 5am???
It is true that I was sitting on the couch, but....
I was complaining to Eric about the fact that I was even awake at 5am, blaming him for that because of shaving his face 'too loudly' in the bathroom. (Now mind you...he's not in the bathroom that's in our room, he's in the kids bathroom with the door closed so that he doesn't wake me up in the mornings) Then I was complaining about my burning sinuses due to my current sinus infection that has been so gracious to grace it's presence in my face. Then complaining that it was too hot, and then it was too cold, and why can't we just have the temp right in the house. And why does the cat have to sleep on my feet and if i dare move under the covers she attacks me...
My poor husband...he can't even have peace at 5 in the morning! :)
But you know what he did throughout the 7 minutes of boo-hooing that flowed like lava from my lips?...he listened, patiently, and apologized for things like the recent fickle weather, pesky sinuses that dared to do anything but what they're supposed to, and the volume of his electric razor. And he could still leave for work in a pleasant mood.
Then later on, he called to see if I got the kids off to school and if I was going to need help.
How awesome is that!
But this was my punishment for being booby this morning...
Wow, i really think i should start blowdrying Allie's hair after her bath at night before bed, because no amount of spray-on conditioner helped make this a pleasant experience for either of us this morning.
On a side note::
Yesterday Chase did 2 things that were 'awesome moments' in our house.
First, i was doing chores and listening to Johnny Cash and Chase started singing along with 'The Man in Black'. Awesome. You can't be a member of this family and not like Johnny Cash.
Second:
When Chase and I sat down for lunch after Chase got home from school...he tried to say a prayer over the food. Arms folded, eyes closed, trying to say the words he was thinking...then he stopped and looked at me, so i told him what to say, and he tried to repeat it back the best he could...it was probably the cutest damn thing I've ever seen in all my 31.5 years of living.

Awww, good for chase! I know what you mean, sometimes I am such a pain in the butt for Ethan and time after time he is loving and patient with me and that is what makes us very very lucky women!
