My Allie

THIS is my Allie.
I sometimes miss her when she's at school.
But I'm glad she goes to school because she LOVES it and I'm glad she LOVES it.
Do other people miss their kids when they're at school?
Maybe if I had several children all close in age, I'd feel differently. But I don't.
I have 2.
I always wanted more. But when autism enters a family, it seems to grasp itself tight and take over. And that's okay. But it makes me scared to have more children.
I envy those that don't have to have that concern. I would love for Allie to have a sister, because I LOVE my sisters and don't want to think about life without them.

How did i get so lucky with the kids I've got. Chase being on the 'high functioning' end of the autism spectrum, continually progressing, brings joy in so many ways to all of us.

And Allie, she is so great.
As a baby, after colic finally decided to make haste and leave us, she slept through the night for at least 11 hours, and when she got old enough to be in a toddler bed, in the mornings, she would get up and turn on the TV to watch cartoons and wait for me to get up, never coming in to wake me up.
She never was a biter, hitter, and learned to share early on.
She never pushes, or makes other feel bad with her words.
She's never a 'problem student' at school.
She is awesome at sticking up for Chase when other kids are mean to him.

Like last summer, when we'd be at the pool on base, whenever another child would take a toy away from Chase, she never hesitated to go straight to that kid and take it back and tell them a thing or two about taking things that didn't belong to them.

We like to hang out and watch Phineas and Ferb after school.
I miss her when she's at school, but don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna go and pull her outta school and start homeschooling or anything....it's good for her and I to have that break in the day from each other. But on those days when I'm not particularly busy, and all my chores and things are completed, I kinda miss my kids when they're not here.

Who wouldn't miss that face? I love getting a little break from my boys, but after about an hour I MISS THEM LIKE CRAZY! I totally understand what you are saying.
