Sunday Drive

I'm just not a fan of 9 o'clock church. And it seems wherever we PCS, it's always 9 o'clock church. About the only time we're 'on-time' to church is if one of us is speaking in Sac Mtg. Today, i spoke in Sac Mtg, so today, we were on time :)

Another reason i don't like early church is because the day feels too long to be stuck inside all the rest of the day....but you don't want to break the sabbath, so how about a 'Sunday drive'?

Today, we drive up to Cloudcroft, NM to see the snow...only problem was, there was no snow :( There was yesterday, but none today. I was all prepared for a winter wonderland to fill our car windows as we traveled up the mountain, but we noticed that the cars and trucks coming down the mountain, were snow-less. So, we decided we'd stop and get out at this spot that we always see people stopped at clickin away with their cameras.

It was a nice sunset, gotta love desert sunsets...so we snapped some pics. The first one above all this writing, is Allie sitting on a very slick rock, next to some graffiti, atop a very high cliff... *sigh* feels like home in Las Vegas seeing that spray paint on that rock.

It was so nice and brisk outside...i'm kinda likin the cold weather this year. I guess I've been away from Okinawa long enough to appreciate winter again! Well, New Mexico winter anyway :)

Eric and the kids

Allie in front of what looks like a 50 year old sign, of the name of the forest we're lookin at.
And what would be a forest sign without everyone's friend, Smokey the Bear

And last but not least, Chase, upset, at having to leave....
dig the pink Dora car seat?
Poor kid, forced to sit in a pink car seat and wear baby blue sweats that matched nothing. What can i say, i needed to do his laundry and promptly put a load in as soon as we got home.
What did YOU do today, perhaps go on a 'Sunday drive'?

I love morning church - especially because we have sacrament meeting last so it makes church drag on forever. It definitely seems longer than 3 hours especially when you are pregnant and have a 3 and almost 2 year old. Love the pics - it looks like you had a fun time.

Hey Amber!
You have such a cute family. Your kids are adorable. I can't believe that you lived in Japan. My brother Jim lives in China right now, and I took my 2 older girls to go and visit him last Feb. We had a blast!! When my hubby finishes school, we hope to get into the Foreign Service too, and live in different countries building embassies. I'm so glad you found me. I'm going to add you to my Blog list, if you don't mind. Feel free to do the same!

Hey, How is your mom and Scott?? Gosh it's been forever!
