Cookie Crisp on a Sunday Morning

Yesterday morning while I was pouring a bowl of cookie crisp for Allie's breakfast, ( i know, so healthy...) Chase walked into the kitchen and said his second sentence ever....He said "Do you want cereal?" I was so excited. Chase's first sentence was 3 words, and he said them just 2 months ago...the sentence was..."Chase is poopy". There's nothing wrong with speaking in third person :) He's almost 3 and a half so to hear him speaking and in sentences none the less, it gives me the hope that I tend to lose when i see Chase around 'normal' 3 year olds. I forget how far behind he is when i see him around other kids, even one's much younger. There are some days when I just don't know why God thought that I would be the best mom for an autistic child. But I know in my heart that I am doing the best I can. I know it and God knows it, even on the days when I feel discouraged and I feel like I'm failing Chase in some way. I know he was given to me for a reason. I think I need Chase more than Chase needs me. He keeps me humble. And when I get those expierences, like the first time Chase finally hugged me back, I thank my Heavenly Father for Chase because that experiene was one I'll never forget. He hasn't hugged me back since that day, but I'll keep hugging him and holding on to that feeling of that 4 second hug forever because it meant the world to me.

That is amazing! Chase is a doll-face, and by that I mean he really does look like a porcelain doll women sometimes collect by paying 3 easy payments of $19.95.

Both your kids are so cute.
